No other European region and US state have as much in common:

  • Remarkable symmetries in major business and research sectors, lifestyles, geography, and demographics
  • Similar size and population
  • Colorado is near the geographic center of the U.S. and the Rhone-Alpes region is at the crossroads between Italy, Switzerland and France.
  • Each has excellent road, rail and air transport, which provide ready access to major markets.
  • Priority sectors in common include: renewable energy, IT/software, bioscience, nanotechnology research and micro/nano-electronics.
  • Colorado is the top recipient of federal research funds in the US and the Rhone-Alpes is second only to Paris in the amount of research funds received.

Testimonial

“As usual  when visiting Colorado with a delegation from Grenoble, we were  overwhelmed by how many similarities we saw in our economic environment and  energy issues. Both regions have developed a pro-active development policy regarding renewable energy and energy efficiency, and address these issues on a technical level as well as trying to develop the relevant business model. I’m really positive on the fact that companies, academics and researchers on both sides of the Atlantic can benefit from our exchanges!

Our partner CORA was acting as usual as a model of efficiency and care in organizing our visit there, providing with the perfect mix of the right contacts at the right  level, a variety of different players, not forgetting the essential aspect of  sharing great convivial moments with our hosts, and enjoying absolutely perfect weather!”
